Our program is dedicated to cultivating creativity, confidence, and community through the performing arts. Under this umbrella, we offer a variety of enriching programs, including Playhouse Studio, Playhouse Camps, Playhouse TheatREach, and Playhouse After Class.

Our Foundations of Acting class, offered for ages 6–12 and 13–17, builds performance and audition skills through voice, movement, scene work, and improvisation. Students gain confidence and character development tools, with a Level 2 option for those with prior experience and an additional Acting through Shakespeare class for those interested in classical training.
Our Dance and Movement for the Stage Class, offered for ages 6–12 and 13–17, builds strong technique and performance skills through training in jazz, ballet, and theatre choreography. Students explore storytelling through movement, develop audition-ready routines, and gain confidence for the musical theatre stage.
Our Music and Voice Class, offered for ages 6–12 and 13–17, builds strong foundations in vocal technique, music literacy, and performance. Students will develop healthy singing habits, learn music theory and sight singing, and begin curating personalized audition repertoire.
One-on-one weekly Voice Lessons with Dr. Sami Serrano Bassig are now open for registration! These 60-minute sessions focus on building healthy vocal technique, breath support, vowel shaping, body alignment, and growing your audition book with repertoire tailored to YOU.
The Nicest Kids in Camp (Hairspray Performance), August 4 – 8. This exciting musical theatre camp brings the iconic songs, unforgettable dances, and heartwarming story of Hairspray to life, giving participants an unforgettable opportunity to experience the thrill of Broadway. From learning the groovy moves of “You Can’t Stop the Beat” to singing their hearts out to “Good Morning Baltimore,” campers will immerse themselves in the fun, charm, and social themes that make Hairspray a timeless classic. The camp culminates in an exhilarating end-of-week showcase, where participants will hit the stage to share highlights from their training.
The Nicest Kids in Tech Camp, July 21 – 25. This exciting theatre camp focuses on the technical side of theatre, giving middle schoolers the opportunity to explore the magic that makes productions like Hairspray come to life. From creating vibrant lighting designs to crafting eye-catching sets and perfecting sound cues, campers will dive into the essential skills of technical theatre inspired by this beloved musical.
Overtures Theatre Camp, July 28 – August 1, Just like an overture in a musical, which sets the tone and gives a taste of the exciting story to come, this camp provides young stars with their first glimpse into the thrilling world of the stage. Through playful activities, creative games, and beginner-level performances, kids will explore the basics of acting, storytelling, and movement in a fun and supportive environment. End of Week Showcase! At the conclusion of the camp, families are invited to a special demonstration of skills, where campers will shine as they share what they’ve learned in an informal performance,
San Pedro Playhouse’s TheatREach program offers a transformative 10-session theater arts experience tailored for historically underserved communities. Designed to empower participants to overcome personal barriers and unlock their potential for personal and professional growth, our program utilizes experiential theater arts activities to cultivate crucial skills such as self-efficacy, emotional resilience, and interpersonal communication. Through creative expression lessons in various mediums including movement, creative writing, and design, participants embark on a journey of self-discovery and skill development. Complemented by classes on life and career visioning, as well as strategies for goal achievement, our program provides a comprehensive approach to empowerment. Participants also enjoy the opportunity to attend two theater shows. Customizable to meet the unique needs of any organization, TheatREach has successfully collaborated with SA Youth and Thrive Youth Center.
